Bar Codes vs RFID Tags

Filed in archive RFID Basics by Anita Campbell on December 14, 2004

I keep getting reminded through reader emails and questions that manage to pop up even on my other (non-RFID) blog, that many business people are just starting to educate themselves about RFID. They are just beginning their knowledge quest.

So the question of Bar codes vs. RFID tags is still a timely question for many.

This Industry Week article has a handy side-by-side chartlinks comparing the benefits of bar codes vs RFID tags.

The author suggests that bar codes may be superior to RFID for certain purposes, or sometimes used in conjunction with RFID tags.

It is definitely worth a read.
