World's Smallest Active Asset RFID Tag from Orizin
Filed in archive Tags and Readers on November 25, 2008

E. F. Schumacher had said that 'small is beautiful' and in the world of RFID technology there seems to be a race for making sure that small is not only beautiful but its better and convenient too.
A few months back Hitachi had come with the claim of world's smallest RFID chip and now it's the turn of another company to utter the same words. An Indian company by the name of Orizin Technologies has come up with what it claims is the smallest available active RFID tag. Measuring 26 x 23 x 7.3 mm, this active RFID tag has a read range of 20 m and can be easily implemented across sectors such as healthcare, defense, manufacturing and IT. The good thing about active RFID tags is that they not only have their own internal power source but work perfectly in environments where radio frequency may fail to deliver.
