at RFID Journal LIVE! 2006 to be held in Las Vegas from May1-3.The arcade games called RFID@PLAY would be played on the floor of the 50,000 square foot exhibition hall. The participants would be required to throw a RFID tagged football into one of the three holes and putting the ball in the smallest hole would fetch them the maximum points. Each hole would be fitted with an RFID interrogator antenna and before making a pass the participant would be required to swipe his or her show badge containing an RFID tag. The system would be recording which hole the ball goes through and would keep track of the participants total score for five attempts with the current highest score would be displayed throughout the day.
With regard to the golf game, the participants would be required to make a putt. The RFID system would be recording the hole the ball enters and associate the points for each successful putt with the appropriate participant and the system would be displaying the highest score.
People who would be participating in the games would be receiving an RFID Journal hat and would also stand a chance to win one of the two flat screen televisions donated by HP.
This would enable the participants not only to have fun but also get to know of the capabilities of the RFID system. I believe that it is a novel way of promoting this technology as everybody loves playing games and if a technology makes them more interesting, nothing better than that.
