Till now RFID tags had to be inserted behind self adhesive labels in order to meet the traceability requirements set by retail chains, government organizations and logistics related enterprises. This would enable SMEs to order low quantities of RFID tags at competitive prices. This process is known as SPRINT or Short Pitch RFID Encoding Technology which is a customer driven solution for RFID mandated suppliers.
The Toshiba TEC B-SX label printer series is equipped with unique heads up technology where the print head is lifted over the chip in order to protect not only the sensitive smart labels but also the print head itself. It has a longer Mean Time Between Failure of the printer and a lower risk of damage to the microchip on the label.
