Wisconsin Gives Seal To Anti Human RFID Chipping Law
This would certainly bring smiles on the face of civil libertarians. Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle has signed a law which makes it illegal to require an individual to be implanted with a microchip. Anybody breaking this law could be subjected to a fine of up to $10,000 per day. This can result in a setback for VeriChip. Certainly, activists and authors Katherine Albrecht and Liz McIntyre must be on the moon as they had revealed in their book "Spychips: How Major Corporations and Government Plan to Track Your Every Move with RFID." about medical and security flaws in the human chip and warned about its serious privacy and civil libertieslinks. It seems be a bad timing for VeriChip as it has plans to come up with an IPO and has also suggested implanting of migrants with its chips. This could also set an example for other states to come up with such laws. Does this signal doomsday for companies like VeriChip?
