Where will RFID head for in the New Year?
We have already bid goodbye to 2007 and entered the New Year and I probably thought it would be a good time to have a look at what all we could expect from RFID in the coming twelve months.

This year we would see further practical applications of this technology in areas of sporting, food safety and areas related to end consumers. One of the biggest examples of RFID implementation will be at olympics 2008 to be held in China.

You will also find people flaunting their RFID mobile devices this year which would definitely make your life easier since you will be able to perform various tasks with just a click of the button. RFID and a host of other wireless technologies will surely be integrated for good.

The friendship of RFID and the retail sector is expected to get better with each passing day and supply chain management would get even more secure. Another thing which I am definitely expecting is the costs of implementation of the technology which will come down for everyone's benefit. We would even witness enhanced media coverage for the technology which would surely add to its popularity and increased exposure. On the whole I expect a better year for RFID when compared with 2007.
