Vera X512H RFID Chip: World's First Unclonable Silicon Chip?
Filed in archive Tags and Readers on September 11, 2008
If this is true then people who oppose RFID technology will have to think twice before they speak against it from now on.
Here is Vera X512H RFID chip which is being labeled as the world's first unclonable silicon Chip. Based on Physical Unclonable Functions or PUF technology this is an electronic DNA or fingerprinting technology which prevents chips from being cloned.
Even in case data is copied from one chip to another still it won't be possible to create a clone, such is the power of this technology. This could emerge as a cost effective anti counterfeiting solution for companies engaged in the areas of pharma, luxury good manufacturers to name a few. I am just waiting to see how effective this chip turns out to be and if it passes all the tests then counterfeiters will have to start looking out for some other job!!
