UK inmates may not be able to escape tagging
I had earlier told you about prisoners getting a taste of RFID technology with Minnesota Correctional Facility using it to track them with RFID embedded wrist straps but Ministry of Justice in UK has gone further and proposed getting the technology in the blood of the inmates by embedding RFID tags under their skin.

The problem with these RFID ankle or wrist bracelets was that prisoners avoided wearing them therefore authorities feel that this would be a better way out to exercise control over them. All this is being done under the plea of lack of space in jails in UK which has witnessed increase in numbers of inmates over the years but would it be right to forcibly tag humans? There are already reports that embedding RFID tags could cause cancer. Are the authorities trying to cover up their lack of ability in controlling the crime ratelinks? Looks more of a cover up exercise rather than putting the technology to the best possible use!!
