"You can never be too thin." You've heard this quote somewhere before, I'm sure. Apparently the guys at Thin Battery Technologies follow the same philosophy.
I got a couple of nice emails recently from Leonard Allison, the CEO of Thin Battery Technologies. It turns out the company is almost in my backyard here in Ohio in the USA.
Thin Batteries has developed thin, printable batteries suitable for active rfid tags and smart labels. They are based upon technology first devised at Eveready Battery Company.
The batteries are made of zinc and manganese dioxide sealed in polymer (plastic). The company says the batteries are in production today, through partners that provide the manufacturing capability, including White Electronic Designs.
