The State of RFID Today
Filed in archive RFID Basics on August 3, 2005

As you can tell from the phenomenal growth in blogs, trade magazines, email newsletters and other online publications, niche publishing is growing rapidly. Online-only publications, especially, are growing. Today it is easy to publish online, with none of the cost inhibitors of starting a print publication.
Not only are there more publications, but they are focusing on ever-narrower niche subjects.
That's why you won't be surprised to learn that there's a new website and monthly newsletter called "Productions and Operations Monthly." It's a community and information site, that says it is "... a website for all the people who are interested in the field of operations management and like to share and transfer their knowledge in the field. The vision is to make Production & Operations Monthly website a place where you can always find valuable operations related things as a solution to your concerns."
The inaugural edition of the newsletter is about RFID. Mark Roberti, editor of RFID Journal wrote a Foreword (I think it's great that someone of his stature in the industry would volunteer his time). I gave a question and answer interview to Editor Ehsan Ehsani, offering a high-level, big picture view of RFID from a business perspective today.
Read Mark's Foreword and my Q&A, and leave a comment below indicating whether you agree with the assessment of the state of RFID today. If not, what would you have said instead?
