The RFID Coffee Mug: Keep your hands off your wallet
Filed in archive Implementation on October 20, 2009

Next time you have your coffee at the local coffee shop you won’t have to take out your wallet to pay for it and all this has been made possible by a college student.
This smug mug comes with an RFID tag welded onto a coffee mug which makes it waterproof. All the coffee lover needs to do is load the money on the chip and you can pay by waving the mug in front of the reader.
Chris Hallberg, the inventor of the RFID coffee mug has already sold his concept to Stone Creek Coffee, a Milwaukee area coffee chain who intend to sell these coffee mugs at its stores carrying a price tag of $15 with $5 already loaded on the chip.
Another good thing about this concept is that it is environment friendly as it would help to do away with paper cups.
