Sun Microsystems today opened a state-of-the-art RFID testing center. The center, in Carrollton, Texas, is set up exactly like a warehouse. customers can use the center to test their selections of hardware and software before purchasing.

The idea behind the center is to help Sun customers mitigate risk. Customers can make sure their selections will actually work, in a simulated environment, before they purchase. Sun plans to open other RFID testing centers worldwide.

Testing includes up to 5 SKUs and 5 pallet SKUs. It also includes high-speed conveyor testing of cases, and forklift testing.
