Taspo IC Card to curb smoking habit among teenagers in Japan
Worried about seeing your teenage kids turning to smoking could send Shivers down the spine of any parent but here is the Taspo card which could alleviate some of your fears. This is a basic identity card which is issued to people over the age of twenty in Japan. As per the law of Japan a person is regarded as major on attaining the age of twenty and only at this age people are legally permitted to buy tobacco products.

So teenagers trying to get hold of a cigarette through a vending machine would certainly meet with disappointment as Taspo card holders would be required to verify their age first using these cards before they could catch a puff.

Teenage kids tend to get swayed by these things quite easily without realizing how much it could harm them but this would surely help in curbing the tendency of underage kids to smoke if not halt it completely. Let's see how much these Taspo IC cards are able to create an impact in the Japanese society.
