Suraksha Mudra: Authentication seal for products you buy
Filed in archive Implementation on November 15, 2007
As you cannot judge a book by its cover similarly you cannot judge a product by its packaging. With around $900 billion worth of counterfeit products selling in the market you never know that the medicines or the health drinks you intend to consume for your well being will add to your health or not.

Did this create some sort of fear in your mind? If it did then you don't need to panic as CISL has come up with a security seal for authentication dubbed as Suraksha Mudra which will ensure that the product you are purchasing is hundred percent genuine. This label has an rfid chip embedded in it and can be put on edible goods and even saris too. So the next time when you go shopping all you need to do is swipe the RFID sticker on the product on to a RFID scanner to verify the genuineness of the product. The labels won't cost much so we make see it being adopted by a number of manufacturers without affecting their bottom-line. This could surely help in putting brakes on counterfeit products if not wipe them off completely!!
