The implementation of RFID in the healthcare sector has seen a rise over the past few years. From tagging of blood to controlling diabetes, RFID seems to be playing an integral role in taking care of the health of the people. Even the National Stroke Association (NSA) of America has realized that RFID is playing a 'critical role' in medical treatments.

Medical professionals are realizing the benefits of RFID system along with a RFID scanner as it would help them in giving the best and timely treatments. NSA stated that RFID delivered 'appropriate' treatment which resulted in 'better patient outcomes.'

Let's take the example of VeriMed Patient Information system which has obtained the clearance of U.S FDA and in case a stroke victim is found out in a helpless condition a secure database of patient information can be used to bail them out. Besides this a similar system will see the day of light in NHS as it would aid in offering guidance for healthcare divisions on improvement of stroke management.

A number of lives could be saved if timely help is given to the patients and RFID is certainly fitting in the role of a life savior for stroke patients where treatments are required on time if the life of a patient has to be saved.
