Spending on RFID Still in Early Stages
Filed in archive Market Size by Anita Campbell on March 23, 2005

Two interesting articles in InformationWeek suggest we are still early in the RFID adoption cycle and companies are still not spending much money on the technology -- yet.
The first article cites a survey by Deloitte & Touche and the Retail Systems Alert Group. It found that most companies allocated less than $500,000 for RFID in 2004. Distributors
were much higher, however, averaging between $2 million and $4 million.
The second article cites a survey by Siemens Financial suggesting that IT executives are spending more money on security and voice-over-IP than on RFID.
