Two interesting articles in InformationWeek suggest we are still early in the RFID adoption cycle and companies are still not spending much money on the technology -- yet.
The first article cites a survey by Deloitte & Touche and the Retail Systems Alert Group. It found that most companies allocated less than $500,000 for RFID in 2004. Distributors were much higher, however, averaging between $2 million and $4 million.
The second article cites a survey by Siemens Financial suggesting that IT executives are spending more money on security and voice-over-IP than on RFID.
