Sneak Peek of Digital RFID Magazine

MoreRFID.com tomorrow is launching the first digital magazine focusing on RFID, called "Digital RFID." And I got a sneak peek.

My reaction? Color me impressed. It's groundbreaking and beautifully presented. And it is a stimulating and enjoyable way to read online.

You might be thinking, "Gee, I read magazine articles online all the time. What's the big deal?"

Several things:
  • You can page through this digital magazine, mimicking the way you read a paper magazine. You are presented with a "front cover." Then you click a button to flip each page. Thus, you do not have the disjointed feeling of reading articles in standard Web page layout, where you don't know where to go next.

  • It is presented as a complete edition, with an index page. That way you can scan the Index to see exactly what you want to read. The Index button is always visible, no matter which page you happen to be on, so you can easily "flip" back to the Index to choose the next article.

  • Visually it is far superior than normal Web reading. It has the image quality of a fine print magazine. And there are not nearly as many distractions on a page.

  • It even has sound, including a gentle "woosh" sound when you flip a page, and music. You can shut off the sound effects with a little button in the top left corner if you prefer the sound of silence.

MoreRFID.com is our content partner here at the RFID Weblog. If you scroll down to the bottom of this RFID Weblog page you will see a brand-new news item appears each weekday, provided via XML feed by MoreRFID.

I use MoreRFID as a content resource myself to sort through RFID news, especially in this day and age of information overload. Just like you, I have to be very discerning on what I spend time reading.

By the way, the man behind the Curtainlinks at MoreRFID is David Zhou, who keeps a low profile, but who does a nice job. Congratulations, David!
