Now here is Shopping Trip 360 which can help them study shopper activity and at the same time keep a tab on stock movement and staff. The system uses a combination of active wireless sensors, hosted software application and RFID transponders to achieve the same. The good thing about this system is that a watch can be maintained in an anonymous manner.
You can consider it as an alternative to item level tagging and is comparatively less expensive for collecting data with respect to stock and consumer data as individual tagging is not required. It enhances activity visibility for the company and shoppers need not scare about any security concerns as no RFID tags are attached to products.
So at the end of the day companies get access to valuable marketing information which can be used for improving product display on the shelves and get in more things which appeals to them and at the same time also ensure that products are replenished on the shelves before they go out of stock. Shopping Trip 360 is in the pilot testing phase as of now and if it gives positive results then companies will get a powerful tool in their hand.
