Life has to be made simple if you intend to enjoy and Ardy Johanson, a dairy farmer from Minnesota has put in serious efforts to do the same. He has opted for robotic milkers which help to keep a track of milk production, milk quality and Milking frequency, that too using minimum human capital.
As soon as the cows enter the robotic milker pellets are dropped into a feeding chute and when the cow gets engaged in eating the robotic arm starts off with washing the udder placing every cup on a teat and the cups are dropped automatically when quarter is milked.
The milker is entrusted with the responsibility of testing milk for color, temperature and conductivity and in case the latter is on the higher side the particular batch of milk will be separated which helps in treating the cow. Every cow has been affixed an RFID collar and in case the milked cow enters the robotic milker due to error head gates are opened to release the cow back to the barn.
The good thing about adopting RFID milker is that Johanson has not only experienced an increase in milk production and reduced need for human labor but at the end of the day has also able to devote more time to his family and accompany them to the baseball games.
Who said life could never become simpler by adopting technology?
