RFID Wristbands for Fitness Clubs Developed By Casio
The application of RFID seems to be endless. In one of our earlier posts we talked about RFID locks and just recently we talking about RFID purse. Now Casiolinks has come up with something for fitness freaks. It has developed RFID wristbands for fitness clubs. The wristbands have been made from silicon rubber and Hitach's mu-chip RFID tags. The training equipments have been installed with a PDA that reads the wristband tags. It recognizes the person using the equipment and displays a personalized training menu. It also records and displays personal health related data.

These wristbands can also be employed for managing check-in/out, monitoring kids' attendance to a fitness program, tracking people's activities and cashless payment in a fitness club facility. Casio would be selling the system to hot springs, gyms, swimming schools and public bathhouses as well.

RFID for our health, Thumbs up
