RFID to Cure Monkey Menace
Fed up with the monkey menace in your area? Certainly you must have and in order to get rid of them, NTT West has come up with an RFID system for repelling monkeys. The major focus of this system is monkeyslinks. This is being done in order to prevent animals from destroying the farms. In order to make this system work, the monkeys should be tagged first and when they would approach the farms, the system would detect them using RFID readers and notify the residents through e-mail. Also some lighting/ sound alarms could be used for scaring off the monkeys.

These tags can not only send out information but also read and relay information. The tags when attached to monkeys are configured as a transmitter. The tags could be configured as a reader and installed in the environment. In case of mountainous region where there is no wireless connectivity the tags could be configured as relay devices and installed at key points. The tags are battery powered and they operate in the 429 MHz band and the communication range is less than a km.

The idea is good but whose gonna bell the cat, I mean to say the monkeys.
