RFID to assist visually challenged to find their own way
This implementation of RFID I feel is worth appreciation. A team of professor and students at UMASS Amherst have been working for developing an RFID system aimed at helping visually challenged people. In this case RFID and component reader have been used to achieve the purpose.

The team is using RFID in order to help a blind person move through a shopping center. Here the reader is connected to an off site server containing information regarding a particular shopping center and after that the server calculates the path and sends commands to the PDA for translation to the user ad helps them find their way.

Certainly this system will offer ease to the people to navigate through the shopping centerslinks and this is just the start as it could be put to innumerable uses besides the one mentioned above.
