RFID tickets made their debut for the first time at olympics 2008 held in China and security experts were apprehensive that it would lead to long queues at the entrance and hackers would play havoc with them but all such fears never really took shape.

There were five different security checkpoints and once you entered the main tent a scanner placed recognized your face apart from the RFID tickets which had to be placed in the RFID scanner. Flashing of green light ensured that you had cleared all the checkpoints to enter the stadium but a red light could halt your journey inside.
