RFID solution to save innocent lives during mine accidents

© alarchMining is considered to be one of the dangerous jobs in the world. Working thousands of feet below the ground is not easy and there is always a chance of accidents taking place. If any such unfortunate incidence takes place it becomes difficult to track miners trapped in the debris as locating them becomes a humungous task. As a result a number of innocent lives are lost due to unavailability of timely help.
Now in order to lessen the response time, around thirty golf mines in South America are planning to use RFID solution for increasing safety of miners and quicken the response time of evacuation team in case of an accident.
The RFID solution will be provided by PlasmaTech. Every miner will be required to wear an RFID tag and the fixed readers will transmit data to a computerized personnel tracking system. This will let the authorities know who all have come out of the mine safely and who are still trapped inside.
This would really benefit the mining industry and help in saving innocent lives.
