Filed in archive Tags and Readers on November 29, 2008

How about breaking the ice with fellow dog walkers at the park? Never thought it would happen in your entire life but here is SNIF Tag, a new collar tag from SNIF Labs which enables pet owners to create connection between them not only offline but even online. This water resistant RFID Tag is available in several patterns and colors so you have a lot to choose from and match it with the personality of your dog. Probably even your dog will find it interesting after all there is also a chance that he or she may end up connecting with her soul mate.
Certainly it's not just a pet monitoring device but also acts a social networking tool. Besides monitoring the activity of your dog, these SNIF Tags emits signal which stores information of other dogs in the vicinity affixed with similar SNIF Tags which is uploaded at the base station and as a result you can check the profile of the dog owners and then decide if you would like to form a connection with them or not. Probably it's another means of bringing people closer. The SNIF Tag Starter Kit is available for $299 including a year subscription to web service
I would definitely get it because a very pretty lady visits the local park everyday with her dog for a jog and I always wanted to talk to her but I didn't knew how to take the first step but now I think RFID SNIF Tag could certainly work to break the ice between me and her!!

If the SNIF tag uses ISO based RFID you could easily make it function as a security device so your dog could let himself in or out to go, through a doggy door with an RFID reader. Now we're talking convenient.
