RFID Record Player: Touch your songs
Filed in archive Implementation on February 15, 2010

I always saw my granny listen to music on her record player and was amused by its design too but inventions exposed us to modern gadgets and we never even bothered to look back. Just yesterday I came across this record player (it may not look like the old design and doesn't even function like one) which puts to use RFID technology taking us back once again in that golden era.
The idea of RFID record player is that of a guy named Matt Brown who went ahead and tagged 45rpm vinyl records with RFID stickers for playing songs in a turntable which doesn't turn. An RFID reader has been placed inside the player which reads information from RFID tagged record. On detection the user moves the tonearm into position and starts reproducing playlist.
So at the end of the day what you get is combination of memories of the past and modern day digital music.
