Konomi over at RFID in Japan wonders aloud whether he will forget about privacy concerns in exchange for an extra hour and a half of sleep.
He reports that Narita Airport in Japan will start a test pilot program that allows travelers carrying an RFID biometric passport to arrive a half hour before an international flight, rather than 2 hours. He thinks that extra hour and a half of sleep would make him give up his privacy concerns....

It applications like this that I dont understand. I am a big proponent of and am using RFID in supply chain. In this case why not just use barcodes, fingerprint scan or some other visual reader technology. RFID is powerful because it is automatic. That doesnt seem desirable here
