The results paint an interesting picture of the characteristics of those working in RFID today. Among the study's conclusions:
- Experience in RFID is a relative thing. Over 80% of those responding have worked in the RFID technology space for under 5 years, with nearly 60% having worked in it for 2 years or less.
- Most of the survey respondents have had little or no formal training in RFID. Over 70% have had no formal training at all. Of those who have had training, it is usually measured in weeks or months, not years. Thus, someone might be highly trained compared with the rest of the field, yet still only have a few months' training.
- The majority of RFID vendor companies are small businesses, with under 100 employees. The customers are large corporations.
