There have been countless news stories about RFID implementations in the U.S., Europe, Japan, China and India -- even Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand.

Now comes this report from AMEInfo suggesting that the Middle East has potential to become a good market for RFID in the next few years.

NetLink, a Dubai-based RFID integrator, has identified Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, as the hub of the up-and-coming Middle East market:

"Mr. Akash Arora, Chief Technical Architect, Netlink said: 'The Middle East market for RFID solutions is in an emerging mode now, but considering the tradition of this market in adopting new technologies at a quick pace, we are confident that our strategy to focus on this segment as a growth area will be highly successful.'

Mr. Arora said the industries in the region which will mostly benefit from RFID technology will include retail, logistics, warehousing and education.

'Our assessment of the potential for RFID technologies in the regional market, particularly Saudi Arabia and the UAE is very high. Dubai, being the hub of trade and logistics for the whole of the Middle East market, RFID solutions will be add immense value to a number of businesses which have their regional base here. The potential for RFID technology solutions in Dubai is also very evident since it is the re-export and warehousing hub of the region,' he said."
