RFID guards your bikes while you attend your class
Filed in archive Implementation , Information About on November 17, 2008

I never realized bikes were a prized possession until I came to know that in the city of Copenhagen alone more than twenty thousand bikes were stolen in a year. Bike theft problem has become so big that around three RFID projects on tagging bikes have been initiated at university levels so that students can concentrate more on their classes and worry less about their bike getting stolen in their absence.
Bike theft is quite common with push-bikes, as they do not require starting. However, motorbikers will feel much more secure for their bike's safety, especially as it will be covered by bike insurance.
These RFID Bike programs have been running in University of Portsmouth, Copenhagen City and Oregon State University. RFID tags are embedded on these bikes which would deter thieves from eyeing them. Have a look at the RFID Bike Programs running at all these places.
