If this works out then probably we are going to see even cheaper RFID tags which could help in pushing up the implementation of RFID facing costs roadblocks up till now. In case excimer laser ablation is put to use it could emerge as a cost effective option for patterning thin film circuits on plastic substrates without putting to use photo resist. Up till now photolithographic method was being used which was driving costs up. This technique is expected to considerably bring down cost of electronic circuit layers and patterned conductive layers of materials which includes palladium. Using this technique we can expect to get low cost electronic circuits for use in RFID tags and sensors. So get ready to witness a new revolution in the field of RFID since its costs would never be an inhibiting factor again!!
