Dubbed as oat-o-mat, this RFID based horse feeder has been developed by Radio Frequency Investment Group Sweden. The feeder is expected to make the life of both the horses and breeder quite simpler as farmhands will not have to portion out feed servings every time for the horses and also ensure that the weaker horses get their required share of nourishment and are not left with hunger pangs by the stronger horses. The breeder even gets updated information with regards to their feeding habit which ensures that timely action can be taken in case the horse is ill. With this system the meals fed to the horses are properly timed in order to ensure that horses feel at ease and even helps in improving their digestion
. The feeder has four feeding bays on each side including hatches and the system has been powered by solar panels. Under this system after the horse has been identified the computer signals the feeder to portion out the food for the stud and in case a horse is jostled by another, the system pinpoints the facts on the basis of which the breeder can figure out how much nourishment each horse has received. Under the pilot undertaken it turned out to be friendly system for horses as it took just around five minutes for the horses to understand it and were even able to enjoy their meals in a calm manner. I believe that this system can also be deployed for civilizing other animals too and ensure that they remain healthy and deliver their best during the entire lifetime.
