RFID Can Solve Parking Woes
This is something interesting. A group of students were planning to put their RFID knowledge to use Merck but when that did not shape up they decided to put their knowledge to an even better use. They noticed that their very own university was prone to parking problems and they came up with an innovative solution to deal with this menace.

Their project titled smarterparking device would help solve the parking problems. This device maintains the record of the number of cars entering the lot and each time a car enters the parking premises, the device subtracts the number of units from the total number of parking spots and the numbers can be made available to the driver outside the parking space so that they can be alerted as to whether there is space available for their cars or not. The students have also launched a website where the drivers can check the spots available at the lots before leaving their homes and alerts can also be send on their mobile phones.

With the number of cars increasing day by day and the spaces shrinking this could turn out to be a device which could help in utilizing the limited parking spaces available effectively

Thnx sterling
