RFID and VoIP Combo In Japanese Dressing Room
Are you in the dressing room of Mitsukoshi, Japan's department chain and the particular dress you tried didn't fit you or you didn't like it and are thoroughly exhausted after moving in and out of the trial room several times. If yes, then don't worry as the department chain has come to your rescue. If not satisfied with a particular piece of clothing then scan your RFID tagged piece of cloth and make use of the VOIP phone inside in order to enquire about the inventory and request for more pieces of clothing to be brought in.

Don't worry for your privacy as the attendant would wait outside the trial room and obey your instructions for more pieces of clothes. Currently the system is in trial stages.

As most of the clothes at the chain store are RFID tagged, customers would be able to go through the inventory level displayed on the rfid reader equipped Cisco phone's touchscreen display. When you have selected a particular item from the inventory, just hit the button and the phone with the sales associate buzzes would buzz and he would get to know the requirements your dressing room.

Certainly this seems to be a great way of making use of the technology in order to make our lives a lot simpler and comfortable.
