RFID and Breast Cancer Treatment

© Erik CharltonHappy New Year 2010 to all of you and I hope everybody enjoyed their holidays to the hilt. Coming back to business, for giving a boost to the healthcare sector, SenoRx is developing an RFID Tag which would be focusing on breast cancer intervention. We must keep in mind that Breast Cancer is the second most frequently diagnosed cancer among women.
The company is already carrying out market research for a new RFID tag and handheld reader which it believes could emerge as the next generation lesion localization device. It would help in bringing out improvement in scheduling logistics and workflow between radiologist and surgeon. As the RFID tag would be placed inside the breast of the patient it would reduce chances of any sort of infection and exigency of performing the surgery on the same day.
Certainly this would be a convincing development towards the well being of woman's health.
