RFID activated billboards to do the trick
Filed in archive Implementation on January 14, 2007
Advertising is all about creative brains churning out creative ideas but this Advertising campaign also has a dash of RFID to it besides creativity. This is the advertising campaign of MINI USA called Motorby which is in its pilot version. The company has placed interactive digital billboards at locations in Chicago, Miami, New York and San Francisco.
In order to participate in this pilot all you need to do is share some information about yourself with MINI USA and within four to six weeks after signing up you will receive a special keyfob which would identify you to the Motorboards placed. When you pass the board you will receive a personal message based on the information that you had given to the company.
So the next time you cross the boards you may see a message such as 'Have a wonderful journey or thanks for your visit' on the basis of information provided by you. A very good advertising technique which could be deployed for targeted advertising but certainly not without RFID!! What say?

Seems like, if it is anything beside pallets, it is met with resistance as soon as RFID is mentioned.
