Philips Presents RFID Chip for Libraries
Philips has come up with a new RFID chip meant for the library industry and it offers enhanced password protected security and privacy features. The chip called ICODE-SLIS addresses a number of challenges faced in library managementlinks such as material identification, reader logistics and inventory and information storage. It also provides increased read performance and is meant for automated management of media in libraries.

It offers convenience for library users such as faster check out of books, CDs and DVDs. It also enables consumers to undertake self service returns. More than half of the libraries which deploy RFID use Philip's ICODE technology.

This is gonna make the life of librarians a lot easier.
