Syngenta Sensors University Innovation Centre Researchers are developing organic RFID tags for monitoring and managing retail supply chain products. These organic RFID tags will help in monitoring temperature and ethylene release so that spoilage and its location can be detected. Even high stress and low stress batches would be identified so that they could reach the shelves in a time bound manner.
Probably by the end of year 2011 we will get a printable organic proof of concept which may get commercialized.
