Oki Electric develops smallest RFID sensor
Oki Electric claims that it has developed world's smallest RFID sensor with a diameter of 8mm and antenna which is 10cm. As compared to the traditional active RFID sensors requiring batteries these passive sensors are powered by RFID reader. A signal is transmitted when RFID reader is placed over the sensor which leads to generation of electricity to be stored in the capacitor. This aids in transmission of information from the sensor to the reader and the electricity also lights up LED lamp

These sensors can measure anything ranging from pressure to humidity to light to temperaturelinks. They can be used in construction for measuring earthquake resistance to condition of food stuff during transportation.
