How about an RFID tag which delivers more than its potential? Planar Energy Devices has gone ahead and energized your active RFID tags. It has come up with a platform which integrates wireless RF harvesting/charging system and lithium ion battery into a single kit

This combination of MXE charging system and PowerPlane MX battery works quite well for active RFID tags as it prolongs the life of battery and requires minimum maintenance. Small primary batteries do not command power therefore there was a need for a platform which could take care of the inherent deficiencies.

The battery measuring 29mm x 25mm x 0.5mm comes with a capacity of 10 mAh and operating voltage between 3 to 4.2V. The PowerPlane MXE system demo kit comprises of PowerPlane MX mounted on a charging circuit board and charge station pad and is priced at $350.
