Now it's the Turn of Cows to Get Tagged
Now, this is what I call the perfect use of technology. First of all the Japanese used this technology for saving lives of disaster victims and now it's the turn of cows. Animal Industry Lab, Japan has developed an RFID tag for cows which has a temperature sensor for monitoring their body temperature. Whenever the cow is put on scales, the system records not only the weight but also the temperature.

The lab has noted that a cow's body temperature abruptly goes down 24 hours before the birth of the calf and this tag could help in preventing new born deaths. Every year around 2.5% of the new born calveslinks die due to accidents during birth. It is expected that the system would help in reducing such accidents without imposing any burden on farmers.

So now can the term life saving tags be used interchangeably with RFID tags? Definitely a yes!!!
