Implementation
by Anita Campbell on October 27, 2005

Remember that I noted a while back that objections had been raised to the plan to implement RFID passports in Norway. Well, despite the objections it looks like RFID passports in Norway are a fait accompli.
Anders Jacobsen from RFIDBuzz.com notes that "a batch of just below 30,000 unencrypted, RFID-enabled passports are being printed thoughout October" in Norway.
The new passports currently contain a description of facial features, but by 2007 will include fingerprints, as required by the european union.
RFIDBuzz has the story translated from Norwegian.

Thanks for the information, Michael. I have been looking for recent stories about Germany's plans. If you know of any good English language articles, please send them my way.
Thanks!!!

This is from now on the official passport - so it's not a test, it's real.
