You know that Nokia manufactures RFID cell phones but I am not hear to tell you about whether Nokia has launched any new model of RFID phone or not rather I will tell you that the company is using these phones for keeping a tab on the its security guards. The reason- Nokia wants to ensure that these people conduct a thorough check of the premises of the company.

All these handsets are fitted with a 13.56 MHz RFID tag with an RFID reader on the outer shell. The guard logs in with the phone and uses it for reading the various tags installed at a number of points in the premises and when the phone is closed all the data is captured by the reader and transmitted to Service Manager which is a web based software.

Like this the shift supervisor gets to know whether the guards performed their duty efficiently or not. Wow!! I never realized that these phones could be put to a number of uses and now even a billboard advertising company, JCDecaux plans to use these RFID phones for tracking installation of billboards. It looks that RFID phones would be put to a number of uses in the future.
