Miners are at a lot of risk the moment they enter a mine and in case of any accident rescue work gets hampered since it becomes difficult to pinpoint the exact location of the trapped miners which results in a number of precious lives getting lost. In order to enhance the safety of its miners, Chilean copper mines are implementing active RFID solutions from Vuance.

In case of any unfortunate incident the solution offers real time information of miners trapped inside the mine. The system can keep track of the miners during both normal and emergency situations. Since it is based on tag reading it brings down the rate of check in errors.

I believe this is a blessing in disguise for the miners who are always at a high risk when they enter the mines and this RFID solution can always come handy in saving those precious moments in locating the miners who otherwise might lose their lives in the accident due to lack of timely help.
