Mattel Avatar: The new age toy series
Nowadays toy companies are seriously looking at and adopting RFID technology to make their toy range look more attractive and engaging for the customers. Mattel, one of the well known toy companies in the world has been putting to use RFID in their range of toy collection. Earlier I told you about Mattel Hyperscan and now it's the turn of their Avatar range of toy which comes with a 3 D web tab called i-TAG that can be scanned with the help of computer webcam. This will reveal the toy information on the screen including biographical details, images and 3D animated action models in various forms of aggression. Certainly this makes the current generation toys an attractive proposition for children of today who are closer to technology than before.

I feel children of today are lucky as they are getting to know technology at an early age and it is in total contrast to our era when technology term was alien to us. This not only means increased knowledge and attraction for children but increased sales for toy companies in this age of intense competition.

Have a look at Mattel i-TAG in action
