Here is this rough and tough RFID tag from Intermec which has been created for delivering in tough conditions. Dubbed as Large Rigid tag, this is a UHF RFID transponder which offers high performance on various surfaces such as wood, metal and plastic. Aimed at harsh industrial applications and temperatures they deliver in temperatures ranging from -40° to 250° F.

The tag is available in both Gen 2 and ISO 18000-6B versions and the company claims that no other tag in the market can match its worldwide usability and ruggedness. Since this tag comes with a wide band antenna design therefore this tag can be used anywhere around the world. It can withstand harsh conditions such as exposure to motor oil, machining oil, motor oil, Kerosene, mineral spirits, methyl alcohol and other kinds of chemicals. If your work involves tough conditions then probably you need to take a look at Large Rigid tag for sure.
