Researching Individual RFID Stocks

All the full-service brokerages and stock analysts in the United States cover companies in the RFID space in some fashion. Generally the RFID companies will be lumped together as part of a larger industry category -- something like Information Technology, Computer Services, Wireless Technology, etc.
The difficulty is that the RFID companies may be scattered over several sub-categories, and it can be hard to get a comprehensive view of the RFID space in a single place or with one set of research. But as long as you have the name of a company in the RFID space and the ticker symbol, you at least can research the company individually.
So how do you find out which public companies are involved in RFID in the first place? One good place to start, with free information, is the RFID Journal. It has a searchable section entitled "Find a Vendor - Publicly Traded Companies." The section includes links to the company websites and ticker symbols.
Researching the RFID Sector
If you want to research RFID as an industry sector for investing purposes, you have far fewer options. A few brokerages and financial news/investor services are just starting to cover RFID as a category. Customers and subscribers of these firms can get access to research on stocks in the RFID industry. For instance:
- C-Net reports that FindProfit.com announced it has initiated coverage of the RFID sector.
- Bear Stearns is providing some analysis of companies in this sector.
- Zacks.com is beginning to cover RFID through its Featured Expert.
PLEASE NOTE: I am providing the information in this post simply as that -- information. This is not intended to be investment advice, nor to endorse any particular company's stock or investment firm.
