Intermec Comes With a Rugged RFID Tag
Intermec has come up with a reusable, rugged tag which can withstand extreme temperatures and hazardous exposures which is common in manufacturing and material handling exposures. Called the Intermec RFID Large Rigid Tag, it is available in EPCglobal Gen 2 and ISO 18000-6B versions for use world over. This tag enables to take benefit of RFID for tracking materials through demanding industrial processes and global logistics operations. This tag works very well on a wide range of materials such as plastic, metal and wood.

Since these tags are reusable they can be rewritten thousands of time and each usability of this tag costs only fraction of a cent. The performance of the tag can be judged on the fact that a single tag can be used for identifying and tracking items such as subassemblies, material handling equipment and logistics containers, finished goods, asset management operations and supply chain.

These tags can survive temperatures ranging from -40 to 250F, -40 to 121C and are compatible with readers that support EPC Gen 2 or ISO 18000-6B standards.
