Implementation

RFID tags attached to the buffer tray helps in gauging the popularity of the concerned item on the table therefore an item which stays for a pretty long time on the table may not be as popular with the patrons and this would give a clear indication to the restaurant management to take a look at the dish and reason out its unpopularity with the guests so that losses in terms of customers and unsold food could be avoided. It can also be used for introducing dishes on experimental basis more freely and get customer feedback within a short period of time to decide the future course of action.
I believe both customers and restaurants would gain from this system as the former would get the food of their choice whereas restaurants will be able to earn the desired revenue. Seems to be a win-win situation for everybody!!
