The first report titled 'Social and Labor Implications of the Increased Use of Advanced Retail Technologies' discussed how RFID could be used in the retail sector. The report stated that though some jobs might be lost in the process but workers need not worry as they could land up jobs in customer service and its implementation would surely be beneficial for the workers.
The second report titled 'Notes on the Proceedings: Social and Labor Implications of the Increased Use of Advanced Retail Technologies' highlighted the worthwhile discussions at the meeting. Overall the meeting was quite successful and it was conclude that employers and employees should work in tandem to realize the benefits of this technology.
Certainly meetings like these would reassure the confidence in both the employers and employees and it could go a long way in ensuring the success of RFID in various sectors. Such meetings have the power of building confidence in a technology which can revolutionalize the world and hence should be conducted on a regular basis for the benefit of all.
